CM Sindh invites Messi-led Argentina for Lyari tour
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has extended an invitation to the defending world champions Argentina to visit Karachi’s Lyari, to boost football in the country.
Lyari, an old city area of Karachi, is often called ‘mini Brazil’, due to its passionate football culture.
The invitation was extended during a meeting with Argentine Ambassador Sebastian Sais.
Both leaders discussed ways to enhance ties between Sindh and Argentina.
The meeting also focused on potential investment opportunities in Karachi’s water projects.
“We have received $50 million from the World Bank for these projects, and we encourage private investors to participate in treating seawater for urban supply,” he said.
During the meeting, he also extended a formal invitation to Argentine football team to the Kukri Ground in Lyari.
It was agreed that Argentine players will participate in training matches at Lyari’s Kuari Ground, fostering sporting ties between the two nations.
