Virat Kohli equals record for most catches of this Indian player
Indian cricketer Virat Kohli equaled former captain Azharuddin’s record of most catches in ODIs for India.
Kohli achieved this feat by catching Ali in the 43rd over of the match against Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy on Thursday.
This was Kohli’s 156th catch in ODI cricket, with which he equaled former captain Mohammad Azharuddin.
Mohammad Azharuddin took 156 catches in 334 ODIs while Kohli took the same number of catches in 298 matches.
Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who took 140 catches in this format, is next in the list of most catches in ODI cricket.
It should be noted that the world record for most catches in ODI cricket is held by former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene, who took 218 catches in 448 matches.
