Sri Lankan PM receives Prime Minister Imran Khan on arrival in Colombo today (Tuesday).

The PM’s Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa accorded warmed welcome to him at the airport.

Colombo presented gun salute and guard of honor besides hosting a reception in honor of Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The PM is visiting Sri Lanka at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also accompanied Prime Minister Imran Khan.

PM’s Adviser on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood and Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari also accompanied him.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold talks with Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

He will also hold talks with his counterpart Mahinda Rajapaksa.

At the high-level talks, the two sides will discuss ways to promote bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

They include: trade, investment, health, education, agriculture and science and technology.

Moreover, both sides will also sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries.

The Prime Minister will also participate in Joint Trade and Investment Conference.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have strong friendly relations since 1948.

The Prime Minister’s visit will help further strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Meanwhile, President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik on Monday issued a statement.

He said that 2-days maiden official visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Sri Lanka will further cement bilateral ties.

He also highlighted the visit’s special focus to gear up trade and strengthen economic cooperation between two countries.
