Paria Veisi Found Dead in Penylan After Going Missing for Days: Murder Investigation Underway

The search for Paria Veisi, who was reported missing last weekend, has ended in tragedy. South Wales Police confirmed that the 37-year-old’s body was discovered at a property in the Penylan area of Cardiff.

Paria Veisi was last seen leaving her workplace in Canton, Cardiff. CCTV captured her driving her black Mercedes GLC 220, which was later found abandoned on Dorchester Avenue, just a few miles from where she was last seen. Concern grew quickly after her sudden disappearance, described by police as “totally out of character.”

Following days of investigation, officers arrested two individuals believed to have known Paria. A 41-year-old man from Penylan has now been charged with murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and preventing a lawful and decent burial. A 48-year-old woman from London faces charges of preventing a lawful burial and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.

Both suspects appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and have been remanded in custody. They are expected to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, April 22.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, the senior investigating officer, expressed the gravity of the situation:

“This brings our search for Paria to a sad and tragic end. Paria’s family, all those who knew her, and those in her local community will be deeply saddened and shocked by these latest developments.”

He added, “There will continue to be detectives and crime scene investigators working in the Penylan area over the next week, and I would encourage anyone with any information to talk to officers at the scene or get in touch.”

Family liaison officers are continuing to support Paria Veisi’s loved ones through this heartbreaking time.
