Michael Lohan, the 64-year-old father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been sentenced to nine months in jail following a probation violation. He was taken into custody in Palm Beach, Florida, after appearing in court on Wednesday. The sentencing stems from a breach linked to his 2022 conviction involving illegal patient brokering.
According to court records and TMZ, Lohan violated his probation conditions after being arrested earlier this year in Texas on a felony charge of continuous violence against his estranged wife, Kate Major. He was accused of physically assaulting her during a domestic incident in February. Major, who now resides in Texas with their two sons, appeared in court remotely for the Florida hearing.
Although Lohan will receive credit for 38 days already served, the remaining term could see him incarcerated for much of 2025. His legal team entered a guilty plea for the probation violation.
The situation escalated after Major reported Lohan for stalking her in a medical facility parking lot. Authorities responded and later confirmed that Major had visible injuries from an alleged earlier attack, which she attributed to Lohan. He was arrested without incident and charged with continuous family violence.
This marks a continuation of Michael Lohan’s legal troubles. In 2021, he faced multiple counts of patient brokering—a case tied to allegations of steering individuals toward specific rehabilitation centers for personal gain.
Despite the latest developments, Lindsay Lohan has remained silent on the matter. On the day of her father’s sentencing, she posted family photos on Instagram, showcasing moments with her husband Bader Shammas and their 21-month-old son, Luai, as she promoted her upcoming film, Freakier Friday.
Michael and Kate Major, who married in 2014, have had a volatile history, including multiple altercations over the years. Though legally still married, the pair have lived apart since 2018, when Major filed for divorce, citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage and requesting custody and support.
In a prior interview, Michael alleged that Major had a history of threatening to have him jailed and accused her of orchestrating the Texas arrest. He also claimed she had been abusive toward him—a claim that has not been verified by authorities.
Michael Lohan is the father of six children, including Lindsay, and continues to face legal scrutiny as his Texas assault case remains pending.
