Hollywood Mourns Lar Park Lincoln: ‘Knots Landing’ and ‘Friday the 13th’ Actress Dies at 63 Following Cancer Battle
Renowned American actress Lar Park Lincoln, best remembered for her memorable roles in Knots Landing and Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, has passed away at the age of 63 after a prolonged fight with breast cancer.
With a career spanning over four decades, Lincoln was a familiar face in both primetime drama and cult horror. She made her mark in 1987 as the cunning Linda Fairgate on the long-running CBS soap Knots Landing. Her performance as the scheming femme fatale quickly captured national attention, and she remained a central character until 1991.
A year later, Lincoln gained horror fame by starring in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, portraying a telekinetic young woman who confronted the infamous Jason Voorhees. The role solidified her status in the horror genre.
Her acting credentials extended to guest appearances on iconic TV shows such as Murder, She Wrote and Beverly Hills, 90210. Later in her career, she also became a familiar presence on QVC, the home shopping network.
The tragic news of her passing was confirmed by Actors Audition Studios, an acting school she established in her hometown of Dallas, Texas. In a heartfelt statement, the studio noted:
“Over her 45-year career, Lar left an unforgettable mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and dedication to mentoring aspiring actors.”
Although her official cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed, it is known that Lincoln had been battling breast cancer over the last five years.
She is survived by her two children, Piper and Trevor, and her grandchildren Audra, Benjamin, Jack, and Mia.
Lincoln’s passion for acting began in third grade and grew through early modeling and commercial work. Her first major film role came in 1985’s Children of the Night, where she played a troubled teenage girl in Los Angeles. The performance opened doors in television, ultimately leading to her career-defining role in Knots Landing.
Reflecting on her time on the show, Lincoln once described her character Linda as “rotten but so fun” — a role that concluded in a dramatic twist when Linda was murdered by her on-screen lover.
Beyond her television and film work, Lincoln was devoted to coaching the next generation of performers, cementing her legacy both on and off screen.
