Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn prize money: How much will fighters earn?

Chris Eubank Jr takes on Conor Benn tonight
Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are ready to clash in one of the biggest boxing fights of the year. The fight will happen on Saturday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in front of more than 60,000 fans. Millions more are expected to watch around the world.
This fight continues the famous Eubank vs Benn rivalry, which began with their fathers. Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn fought twice in the 1990s. Eubank Sr won the first match in 1990. Their second fight in 1993 ended in a draw. Now, their sons are stepping into the ring to carry on the legacy.
£15 Million Fight Purse – 50/50 Split
The total money for the fight, known as the fight purse, is £15 million. Both Eubank Jr and Benn have agreed to split it evenly. This means each fighter will earn £7.5 million, the biggest payday of their careers.
The fight was first scheduled to take place in October 2022, but it was cancelled after Benn failed a drugs test. However, his suspension has since been lifted, and he is now cleared to fight again in the UK.
Turki Alalshikh Helped Seal the Deal
Eubank Jr shared how the fight was finally made. He said Turki Alalshikh, a powerful figure in Saudi boxing, called him to discuss the money. Eubank said he asked for a “diabolical number” – a very high amount – expecting it to be negotiated down. But Alalshikh agreed to it right away and promised to send the contract.
“I gave him an inconceivable number, and he said, ‘Done,’” Eubank Jr said. “I could’ve asked for more or maybe a couple of watches!”
He also accused promoter Eddie Hearn of lying about Benn getting a 60-40 split in his favour. Eubank denied that claim and said there were no percentages in the deal.
Rehydration Clause – £1 Million Penalty
A special rehydration clause is part of the fight agreement. Both men must weigh no more than 160lbs before the fight and cannot gain more than 10lbs by the next morning. This rule may benefit Benn, who normally fights at a lighter weight.
Eubank Jr, who is naturally bigger, admitted the clause is tough. He revealed he would have to pay £1 million if he doesn’t stick to the rule.
“I can change my mind at any time,” he said. “But it will cost me a substantial amount of money. I don’t want to lose $1 million.”
Fans Ready for War
With the money, history, and pride on the line, fans are excited to see these two boxing stars go head-to-head. The fight will be a middleweight showdown, and with such big names involved, it promises fireworks in the ring.
