American Airlines Crew Restrains Passenger Trying to Enter Cockpit on Flight
Shocking footage captures the moment an American Airlines passenger tries to storm the cockpit.
Shocking video from April 24 shows American Airlines crew members stopping a female passenger who tried to enter the cockpit before takeoff.
The incident occurred on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight (AA950) bound for New York’s JFK Airport. The video, shared widely on Tuesday, reveals crew members struggling with the woman as she attempted to breach the cockpit door.
What Happened?
The passenger, dressed in formal attire, became angry over a delayed departure at Sao Paulo Airport. She suddenly rushed toward the cockpit, shouting. Crew members quickly blocked her, yelling, “Get out! Get out!” During the fight, a crew member pushed her to the floor, and others restrained her.
Aftermath and Delay
The disturbance forced the plane to return to the gate, delaying takeoff by two hours. The woman was escorted back to her first-class seat. Another passenger then stood up, shouting angrily at her until crew intervened. Both individuals were handed to Brazilian police, though it is unclear if charges were filed.
Airline Statement
American Airlines confirmed the flight returned due to a “safety problem.” They stated, “Safety is our top priority. We thank everyone for their understanding.”
Why Did She Target the Cockpit?
Reports suggest the woman was upset about the initial delay. Her actions caused further hold-ups, frustrating other passengers.
