Kremlin Says Ukraine’s 30-Day Ceasefire Plan Is “Impossible”

29 April, 2025 13:36

April 29, 2025 – The Kremlin has rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for a full 30-day ceasefire, calling it “impossible” at this time.

The comment came from Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Speaking to Russian state media (RIA), Peskov said, “Without resolving all the details, this is impossible.”

Russia’s Own Truce Plan

President Putin has already announced a temporary ceasefire. It will last for three days in early May during Victory Day celebrations, which mark 80 years since the end of World War II. The truce is meant to begin on May 8 and end on May 10.

However, this ceasefire is unilateral, meaning it only involves Russia unless Ukraine agrees to join it.

Tensions Remain High

Zelensky had pushed for a longer ceasefire to reduce fighting and possibly restart peace talks. But the Kremlin has made it clear that such a plan is not possible right now.

This is still a developing story, and more updates are expected soon.
