Britain’s Got Talent Flooded with Complaints After Chaotic Semi-Final
Britain’s Got Talent is under fire once again after its first live semi-final episode of 2025 triggered over 120 complaints to Ofcom. The majority of the 126 complaints were reportedly in response to the controversial performances of two acts: extreme stuntman Auzzy Blood and Japanese nudist performer Akira.
Both acts were heavily criticised for content deemed “unsuitable for children,” with outraged viewers calling the show “inappropriate for a family audience.” Auzzy Blood, known for his graphic stunts, horrified the audience by inserting a metal hook through his nose during his audition earlier this year — an act that alone sparked more than 700 complaints in February.
Akira, whose act involves partial nudity as part of a comedic routine, also drew significant backlash during his initial audition. Ofcom confirmed receiving 90 complaints related to nudity at that time. His reappearance in the live semi-finals only reignited controversy, prompting fresh outrage from viewers who expected the show to maintain family-friendly standards.
The backlash comes amid growing scrutiny over the show’s content and suitability for younger audiences. While BGT is known for pushing creative boundaries, Saturday night’s chaotic broadcast has left many questioning where the line should be drawn.
ITV and Britain’s Got Talent producers have not yet publicly commented on the latest wave of complaints.
