Eurovision 2025: Final date, UK entry, latest odds and more

As May begins, the countdown is officially on for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which promises a thrilling week of musical spectacle across Europe. The beloved event, now a staple for music fans worldwide, will run from May 13 to May 17, with the grand final airing live on Saturday night at 8pm.

Representing the UK this year is country-pop trio Remember Monday, who will take the stage with their energetic and upbeat track What the Hell Just Happened?. The group, consisting of Holly-Anne Hull, Charlotte Steele, and Lauren Byrne, rose to fame through The Voice UK and now aim to give the UK its first win since 1997. Last year, Olly Alexander placed 18th with Dizzy.

Switzerland claimed victory in 2024 thanks to Nemo’s The Code, marking their first Eurovision triumph since Celine Dion in 1988. Now, Basel will host the 2025 contest.

As one of the ‘Big Five’ countries, the UK automatically qualifies for the final, alongside France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. All other participating nations must secure a place through the two semi-finals held on May 13 and 15.

Countries already locked in for the semi-finals include Iceland, Poland, Ukraine, Sweden, and Malta — the latter’s entry, Kant by Miriana Conte, is stirring attention for its clever linguistic twist.

Currently, Sweden leads the betting odds with a 39% chance of winning, followed by Austria and France. The UK, meanwhile, sits at 14th place in the odds, hoping to improve with a strong performance.

Adding a touch of star power, Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa will announce the UK’s jury votes during the final. With excitement building, fans are eagerly awaiting whether Remember Monday can make Eurovision history.
