Nicolas Cage lookalikes Daniel Breuer & Patrick Doran take over London

03 May, 2025 20:29

Dozens of Nicolas Cage lookalikes gathered in London on Friday for a funny contest celebrating the release of his new movie, The Surfer. Fans dressed as the actor’s famous characters, from Raising Arizona to Con Air, and competed for the best impersonation.

The event took place at London’s Prince Charles Cinema near Leicester Square. Daniel Breuer won the contest by dressing as Cage’s character Hi from Raising Arizona (1987), wearing a Hawaiian shirt and fake mustache. “I’ve been compared to Nic Cage my whole life. This is my moment to shine,” Daniel told The Guardian after his win.

Another contestant, Patrick Doran, imitated Cage’s Con Air character Cameron Poe, wearing a blond wig and white tank top. Patrick joked, “People used to say I looked like a young Nic Cage. Now they just say I look like Nic Cage!”

While the lookalikes took photos with fans, the real Nicolas Cage did not attend. A life-sized cardboard cutout of the actor stood in his place.

Nicolas Cage’s Family Update

The event came shortly after Cage, 61, attended his son Weston’s wedding in Beverly Hills. Weston, 34, married Jenifer Alexa Canter in a rooftop ceremony at The London West Hollywood hotel on April 25. Cage wore a black tuxedo, while the bride stunned in a strapless white gown.

It is unclear if Weston’s mother, Christina Fulton, attended. Last year, Fulton accused Cage of attacking her during an argument. Cage has denied the claims.

Why the Lookalike Contest?

The contest was organized to promote Cage’s new film, The Surfer. Fans enjoyed posing with the cardboard Cage and sharing memories of his 40-year career. “He’s a legend – no one acts like him!” said one attendee.

The National Treasure actor could be seen standing on the left side of the altar near his son in an Instagram video recently uploaded by one of the guests
It comes after Nicolas attended his son Weston’s wedding during a romantic outdoor ceremony in Beverly Hills – only weeks after the singer learned of his fate in his felony assault trial
The winner of the contest turned out to be Daniel Breuer, who managed to capture Cage’s childless criminal character Hi from 1987’s Raising Arizona – complete with Hawaiian shirt and moustache
He told The Guardian: ‘When I was younger, people used to say I looked like a young Nic Cage. Now it’s just: “You look like Nic Cage.” I take it as a great compliment’
The group of lookalikes certainly appeared to be having the time of their lives as they larked around outside the cinema and posed for selfies with curious passersby
Unfortunately, the real Nicolas Cage failed to put in an appearance, with competitors having to make do with a life-sized cardboard cutout instead
