A shocking incident unfolded on Friday afternoon at the Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Inglewood, Southern California, where two female employees were shot and hospitalized. Authorities have labeled the incident as a case of workplace violence.

The shooting occurred around 4 p.m. in an office on the school campus, which is located just southwest of Los Angeles. According to Inglewood Mayor James Butts, the suspect is believed to be a former employee of the college.

One of the victims is reported to be in critical condition, while the condition of the second woman has not yet been disclosed. The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed via social media platform X that two individuals were transported to the hospital following the shooting.

After the incident, the suspect fled the scene but was later taken into custody. The Los Angeles Police Department stated that officers detained a male suspect who was found in a vehicle matching the description given by the Inglewood Police Department. The car was flagged by law enforcement agencies after being linked to the shooting. However, Inglewood police have not released further details at this time.

Following the incident, the school went into lockdown for about an hour to ensure student and staff safety. Aerial footage from news helicopters showed a heavy police presence surrounding the campus.
