Woman arrested on suspicion of murder after fatal stabbing in Merseyside Flat

A 39-year-old woman from Billinge has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing incident in Haydock, Merseyside.

The tragic event occurred just before 10:30pm on Friday, May 2, inside a block of flats on Sherlock Avenue. Officers from Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service rushed to the scene after receiving a report that a man had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, emergency services found a man in his 30s with serious stab injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he died from his wounds.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police stated:

“A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed inside an address in Haydock yesterday evening, Friday 2 May.

At around 10.25pm police received a report that a man in his 30s had been stabbed following an incident inside a flat on Sherlock Avenue.

Officers attended, along with NWAS, but sadly the man has since died from his injuries.”

The woman remains in police custody, where she will be questioned. Authorities have confirmed that investigations are still in the early stages, and they are working to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Local residents are urged to come forward with any information that may assist the ongoing investigation.
