20-year-old Hasan dies in tragic stabbing in east London flat
A young man described as “super nice and helpful” has tragically died after being stabbed at his home in east London.
The victim, known locally as Hasan, passed away in Pickard Close, Mile End, where he had lived with his family for over 10 years. Neighbours shared heartfelt memories of Hasan, saying he was always willing to help others—carrying groceries for elderly residents and doing small jobs around the neighbourhood.
The tragic incident happened around 1:30pm on Wednesday, April 30. Paramedics tried to save him, but sadly, Hasan died at the scene.
One neighbour told Metro: “He was a super nice, helpful young man. He would carry shopping for people and offer to help whenever needed. Once there was some rubbish on the street which was worrying me and he said ‘no problem, I’ll sort it.’ He was kind and good fun. He would joke around with the local kids. He will be missed by us all. To see the family laying flowers to him is so sad—he was so young.”
In memory of Hasan, people have placed flowers, candles, and framed photos at the scene. A condolence card from his family read, “you will be so missed.”
Another neighbour said: “His family are lovely, they will be heartbroken. They’ve lived here for many years and have always been good neighbours. A lot of people have come to pay their respects—that’s how nice he was.”
Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. A 25-year-old woman, who was also injured, was arrested at first but later released. Another woman, aged 41, was also arrested and released.
Detectives and forensic experts investigated the area, and the house remained sealed off by police for two days.
The Metropolitan Police said that a 20-year-old man had been stabbed and despite efforts from ambulance crews and the air ambulance, he sadly died at the scene. A post-mortem will be carried out, and the family is being supported by specialist officers as they wait for formal identification.
