British Couple Killed after Ferrari plunges into river in Spain

A British couple tragically died in northern Spain after their Ferrari veered off the road and landed in a river.

The incident occurred in a mountainous area near the town of Boca de Huérgano, in the León region. According to Spain’s Civil Guard, the victims were a 78-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman.

Their sports car crashed into the Yuso river and was found upside down, partially submerged in water. Firefighters had to clear dense vegetation to reach the vehicle.

Both passengers were already deceased when emergency crews recovered their bodies.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A UK Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed: “We are supporting the families of a British man and woman who died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
