Russian Teacher Anna Plaksyuk Jailed for 9 Years Over Abuse of 11-Year-Old Student
Married primary school teacher Anna Plaksyuk has been sentenced to nine years for her treatment of an 11-year-old boy
A Russian court has sentenced Anna Plaksyuk, a 27-year-old married primary school teacher, to nine years in prison for inappropriate actions involving an 11-year-old student.
The abuse began in November 2023 and continued until January 31, 2024, when the boy’s mother discovered disturbing messages and images on his phone.
Plaksyuk, who worked at a school in Toksovo, Leningrad region, forced the child to engage in inappropriate physical contact, including kissing and touching. She also kept him locked in her classroom after school. Investigations revealed she sent the boy explicit images via WhatsApp and pressured him to send similar photos in return.
Initially, parents at the school defended Plaksyuk, calling her a “dream teacher.” However, evidence showed she manipulated the student for months. During her trial, Plaksyuk admitted to isolating the boy but claimed he had “shown interest” in her first. The court dismissed this argument, stating the child was too young to understand his actions.
The victim’s mother reported the abuse to police and school officials immediately. The boy stayed home from school for months after the incident. Plaksyuk, arrested in early 2023, spent over a year in pre-trial detention. She is now banned from teaching for one year after her release.
Lawyer Ilya Rusyaev explained that while Plaksyuk avoided a 20-year sentence, her actions violated Russia’s strict laws protecting minors. The legal age of consent in Russia is 16. Experts stressed that her behavior damaged the child’s mental health and broke professional ethics.
