Frank Skinner’s real name revealed – after he revealed he’s secretly tied the knot

British comedian and TV presenter Frank Skinner has finally tied the knot with his partner of 24 years, Cath Mason. The 68-year-old made the surprising announcement during an episode of his podcast Frank Off The Radio.

The wedding was a private ceremony held at Camden Town Hall. Only their son, Bear, was present as a witness.

A Long Time Coming

Frank, whose real name is Christopher Collins, had proposed to Cath four times over the years. She rejected him each time. But this week, they finally said “I do” – in their own unique way.

Frank joked on the podcast, “I got married! I got f***ing married!” His co-host Emily Dean burst into tears when he shared the news.

The couple had a small, informal wedding. They didn’t invite any friends or family. Frank said they got married on the stairs at the town hall.

Cath Didn’t Want the Fuss

Frank revealed that Cath didn’t want a big wedding. She refused to wear a white dress, didn’t want a ring, and didn’t want guests.

“I said ‘Will you marry me?’ and she said, ‘I’m not having a f***ing party!’” Frank shared. In the end, he agreed to her conditions.

On the wedding day, they walked on Hampstead Heath in the morning and nearly cancelled. “We actually thought, shall we not bother?” he said.

Funny Wedding Moments

Instead of walking into classical music, the couple played “Lie Dream of a Casino Soul” by The Fall — a band they both loved in the early days of their relationship.

Cath wore a simple floral dress, not a traditional gown. Frank joked she wanted to wear leggings. She also refused to change her name or wear a ring. “If I wear a ring, I’ll feel trapped,” she told him.

During the vows, Frank said holding hands and looking into each other’s eyes felt awkward. “It was like a séance,” he joked.

Why Now?

Frank admitted he wasn’t sure why they decided to marry now. “Maybe I’ve got too much money and I’ll give her half in five years!” he laughed.

He also shared a very honest thought from the night before: “If she f***s off and takes my money, I’ll end up in a care home in my 80s with nothing.” But even after sharing that with Cath the next morning, they still got married.

Frank Skinner has had a long career in British entertainment. He’s a comedian, a radio host, and once hosted Room 101 on the BBC. He was awarded an MBE in 2023 for his services to comedy.
