Human Remains Found Near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Home
WESTERLY, RHODE ISLAND – May 2025 — A human leg bone was discovered Wednesday morning in Westerly’s upscale Watch Hill neighborhood, not far from Taylor Swift’s waterfront estate, according to local authorities.
The Westerly Police Department confirmed the remains were found along Everett Avenue, an area near both the pop superstar’s residence and the luxurious Ocean House resort, a five-diamond property known for attracting high-profile guests.
The Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the bone for forensic analysis. While the origin and identity of the remains remain unknown, police currently do not suspect foul play.
Resident Reaction
Local resident Taylor Day, who was driving by as investigators arrived, expressed shock at the discovery.
“It was probably a couple football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House,” Day told NBC 10 News. “I would never expect anything like that—especially not in Watch Hill.”
Day said the unsettling news made her more cautious:
“My mind immediately went to all the theories that are being thrown around. I’m more aware of my surroundings. I don’t go places that are kind of dim or where I could be alone. Just trying to stay out in public and be vigilant.”
Investigation Ongoing
Westerly Police are continuing their investigation but have emphasized that there are no immediate public safety concerns. As the case develops and the remains are analyzed, further information is expected to be released.
Taylor Swift, who owns a highly publicized beachfront mansion in the area, has not issued any comment. There is no indication that the discovery is connected to the singer or her property.
This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more details emerge.
