King Charles Gives Optimistic Cancer Update During Visit to Bradford

King Charles has given a hopeful update regarding his ongoing cancer treatment during a recent visit to Bradford with Queen Camilla. The royal couple was in West Yorkshire to mark the city’s status as the UK’s City of Culture.

While interacting with members of the public, the King met a former cancer patient and spoke about his own health journey. In a rare and candid moment, he said, “I’d like to think I’m on the better side (of my cancer journey).” The monarch has been undergoing outpatient treatment at the London Clinic since being diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer early in 2024 — nearly 15 months ago.

During a stop at Impact Hub Yorkshire, where the King met with local entrepreneurs and community leaders, florist Safeena Khan presented him with a bouquet inspired by his garden at Highgrove. After their brief conversation, she shared that the King was warm and friendly. “He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There was some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation,” she recalled.

She also mentioned that when she inquired about his health, Charles gave her a thumbs up and made the reassuring statement about his progress.

The King’s public appearance and his encouraging words have offered reassurance to supporters and well-wishers following his lengthy treatment.
