Secret Messages Hidden in White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s Suits
Karoline Leavitt’s fashion designer reveals secret messages hiding in her suits and what she’s really like in person
Fashion designer Christopher Cuozzo has revealed that he hides secret messages and patriotic linings inside the suits he designs for White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Leavitt, who became the youngest person ever to hold the press secretary position at just 27 years old, works closely with Cuozzo on her wardrobe for the White House.
Designer Behind the Look
Cuozzo, who is based in Boston, is mainly a menswear designer. He only recently started designing for women. He met Leavitt in late 2024, shortly after Donald Trump won the presidential election.
Leavitt contacted him knowing she would need professional outfits for her new high-profile job. Her husband, Nicholas Riccio, age 60, also requested suits from Cuozzo. The couple and their baby, Niko, are now regular clients.
“They were the nicest people,” Cuozzo said. “They loved the suits I sent and have been ordering more since.”
The Design Process
Leavitt sends ideas and inspiration to Cuozzo, who then creates sketches and sample fabrics. She likes bold colors, such as emerald green and bright red, and is not afraid to stand out. However, Cuozzo keeps the suits professional and sharp.
He revealed that some of Leavitt’s custom suits include hidden messages and printed linings inside. One of them features an American flag lining, a nod to her patriotic values. Since the linings are not visible during press briefings, Cuozzo joked, “I’ve got to get her to flash that jacket open.”
Classy But Not Flashy
Leavitt prefers classic styles over trendy patterns. “You don’t want anything loud or colorful in a distracting way,” Cuozzo said. “Classic reigns supreme when you’re representing the White House.”
