Valeria Marquez Killed On Livestream After Saying “I’m Worried”

17 May, 2025 13:17

Valeria Marquez, a 23-year-old beauty influencer from Mexico, was shot and killed during a TikTok livestream inside her own salon on Tuesday.

Just minutes before her death, she told her followers that she felt something was wrong, saying:

“Maybe they were going to kill me… I’m worried.”

Shortly after saying those chilling words, two men entered her salon, one of whom shot her in the head and chest, killing her on camera.

What Happened Before the Shooting?

Earlier in the day, a masked man pretending to be a delivery driver showed up at Valeria’s salon. He said he had an expensive gift for her. He was with another man.

When Valeria arrived and was told about the visitors, she shared her fears on livestream.
She nervously said:

“Were they going to come and take me away, or what? I’m worried.”

A few minutes later, the men returned. One gave her a stuffed animal and a Starbucks coffee. Then he pulled out a gun and shot her while the stream was still live.

Investigation Points to Cartel Connection

Authorities believe the attack was a targeted hit, not a random act.
Denis Rodríguez, a spokesperson for the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office, said:

“It looks like the killer didn’t know her personally. He was likely paid to do it.”

Local media reports suspect Doble R, a notorious cartel leader, was involved.
Valeria had reportedly dated him in the past, and their relationship may have turned dangerous.

Valeria Tried to Change Her Life

Before her death, Valeria told her followers:

“I’ve changed. I don’t go out anymore, I don’t drink. I’ve stopped being around thugs. I’m a good girl now.”

She had over 110,000 TikTok followers and was known for her beauty and lifestyle content. Fans loved her honest, real-life stories and personal transformation.

A Shocking Reminder of Mexico’s Femicide Crisis

Valeria’s tragic death has once again highlighted Mexico’s femicide crisis, where thousands of women are killed each year.

Just days earlier, mayoral candidate Yesenia Lara Gutierrez was also shot dead in public. These killings reflect a growing trend of violence against women, especially those in the public eye.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has vowed to find Valeria’s killer and called for justice.
