An incident at the New Islamabad International Airport on Tuesday has triggered public outrage after an Airport Security Force (ASF) officer was seen physically assaulting a passenger, Javed Ahmad, in front of his family.
According to details, the confrontation occurred as Ahmad arrived from Saudi Arabia to spend the holidays with his loved ones. A video of the altercation quickly spread across social media, showing ASF personnel, identified as Zia, slapping and mistreating the passenger. “A video of the incident circulated on social media, capturing ASF personnel identified as Zia slapping and mistreating Ahmad, who had just arrived in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia to spend holidays with his family.”
The viral footage also captured distressing scenes of Ahmad’s young daughters crying and visibly shaken as the situation unfolded. “The footage also showed the passenger’s daughters visibly distressed and crying during the altercation.”
Eyewitnesses claim that following the assault, the ASF officer allegedly summoned the family to his office and issued threats. “Following the incident, the ASF officer reportedly summoned the victim’s family to his office and issued threats against them.”
In response, Ahmad’s daughters have made a heartfelt plea to the authorities, urging them to take immediate and stern action. “The passenger’s daughters have since appealed to the relevant authorities, calling for immediate action against the officer’s excessive and unlawful behavior.”
Calls for accountability have grown louder on social media, as citizens demand justice and stricter oversight of security personnel at public facilities.
