Government Announces Five Public Holidays For Eid Ul Adha 2025

DOHA – May 22, 2025: The government of Qatar has officially announced a five-day public holiday for Eid ul Adha 2025, giving residents ample time to celebrate one of the most important Islamic festivals.

According to the official schedule, the Eid holidays will begin from the Day of Arafah (9 Zilhaj) and continue till 13 Zilhaj. The exact Gregorian dates will be confirmed after the Zilhaj moon is sighted, which will determine the start of the Islamic month.

Eidul Azha 2025 Holidays Schedule

The Qatari Moon Sighting Committee is expected to meet on May 27, 2025. If the moon is sighted that evening, Zilhaj will start from May 28, making the Day of Arafah fall on June 5, and Eid ul Adha will be on June 6.

However, if the moon is not seen on May 27, then Zilhaj will begin on May 29, and Eid celebrations will shift forward by a day.

• Eid Day (10 Zilhaj): June 6, 2025 (Friday)

In Pakistan, Eid ul Adha is expected to be observed from June 7 to June 9, 2025 (Saturday to Monday). The celebration honors the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) in submission to Allah’s command.
