Famous Pakistani Designer faces new allegations

25 May, 2025 10:41

YouTube documentary has made serious claims against world-famous fashion designer Mehmood Bhatti. The film, which includes voices from all sides and shows documentary proof, reveals a pattern of lies, legal tricks, and false claims. It has started a big public debate.

At first, the documentary was meant to be an inspiring story. But things changed when it found problems in Mehmood Bhatti’s personal story. One big issue is a land dispute with his brother, senior lawyer Munir Bhatti. This land is on Multan Road. According to Mehmood Bhatti’s own book, *Paris main Dusra Janam*, his brother supported him when he moved to Paris for higher studies.

In the same book, Mehmood says that in 1987, he gave his brother a general power of attorney for the land. He said nothing until 2002, when he took the matter to the Revenue Court, but the court ruled against him. After that, he stayed silent for 20 more years.

In 2021, he again filed a case saying he didn’t know the land had been transferred. But the 2002 court order and his own book prove that he did know. This brings up legal questions under the Limitation Act and also raises concerns about how courts may be influenced.

His autobiography also includes shocking statements: stealing, fake documents, and fleeing from Pakistan in the 1970s to avoid arrest. He also wrote that he cut ties with his mother. But now he claims to be building a charity in her name, which the documentary points out as a contradiction.

In past interviews, Mehmood Bhatti said his parents died when he was young. In his book, he says he was adopted. In recent interviews, he has supported views that go against Islamic beliefs. Many people are angry about this, and some religious groups have even issued fatwas (religious rulings) against him.

The documentary also proves that Bhatti does not own most of National Defence Hospital, as he claims. Legal papers show he owns a small, disputed share. The matter is in Lahore High Court because he didn’t pay the full amount. Hospital officials say he has no role in managing the hospital.

One more claim—of a Rs. 130 million hospital theft—was thrown out by police and courts because Bhatti could not show any proof. The courts said the case had no base.

The film also says Bhatti uses media tricks to pressure people, including blackmail and fake news. His charity work also seems fake. There are no registered NGOs or public reports to support his claims. His current wife has also filed a case against him, which raises even more doubts.

The documentary ends by asking bigger questions: How can such stories be shared without proof? And how do some people get state awards without full checks?

It leaves viewers with a strong message: The truth is not just what someone says on TV—it is what can be proven with facts.

In a new YouTube documentary, Mahmood Bhatti rejected all allegations against him, claiming that he was targeted for serving orphans, the poor, and the helpless, and asserted that no one can stop him from continuing to serve orphans and the underprivileged.
