Amanda Owen, famously known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, is starting a brand-new journey in children’s publishing. On Monday, June 10, 2025, Owen announced that she will be releasing seven new children’s books in partnership with the well-known publishing house Puffin.
Amanda, who became popular through the Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm, will bring stories from her rural life to young readers. The first book, titled Christmas Tales From The Farm, will be released on September 11, 2025. It is written for children aged 8 to 12 years old.
This upcoming book is a collection of short stories. It features fun and warm tales about life on a farm. Readers will meet animals like a clever sheepdog, special chickens, and a naughty reindeer. The book is beautifully illustrated by Becca Hall.
Amanda shared her excitement: “I’m very happy to join the Puffin family. Books can bring so much joy to children. I hope to inspire young readers through real farm life and fun storytelling.”
Amanda, 50, is also a mother of nine children. She knows how stories can spark imagination and create happy memories. She said that her childhood love for Puffin books makes this publishing deal extra special.
Katie Sinfield, editor at Puffin, also shared her thoughts: “Amanda’s farming experience and her storytelling are a perfect match for children’s books. This series will be loved by families across the UK.”
Amanda became famous not only for her TV role but also for her popular Yorkshire Shepherdess books. Her last book Celebrating The Seasons With The Yorkshire Shepherdess was a hit. It shared recipes, farm stories, and beautiful photos of countryside life.
Her new book is expected to be a perfect gift for children this Christmas. Readers will also get a glimpse into real life at Ravenseat Farm, where Amanda and her family live and work.
Amanda split from her husband Clive in 2022 after 22 years of marriage. Now, they both appear in Channel 4’s Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids, a show about fixing up a nearby farmhouse.
Amanda’s literary agent, Jo Cantello, said: “It’s a dream to work with Puffin. Amanda’s writing and love for animals will win the hearts of a younger audience.”
