Who is Salman Haider? All about Rajab Butt cousin

Salman Haider is currently in the spotlight after being named in a serious criminal case registered at Lahore’s Nawab Town police station.

He is known as the cousin of YouTuber Rajab Butt and is now facing major allegations, including rape, blackmail, and illegal confinement.

According to a complaint filed by social media activist Ayesha Sharafat, she became friends with Salman through social media. At first, their interaction was friendly.

But everything changed on August 16, 2024, when Ayesha says Salman invited her to his house in Bahria Orchard. She claims he offered her juice that was mixed with an intoxicating substance.

“Salman called me around 7pm and asked me to visit him. I trusted him and agreed,” she wrote in her statement. After drinking the juice, she said she lost consciousness and later woke up to find that she had been sexually assaulted.

Ayesha didn’t tell her family right away because she feared judgment from society. However, she said the situation got worse when Salman allegedly started blackmailing her using a private video he had recorded without her consent. He even sent the video to her sister.

This led Ayesha and her sister Palwasha to confront Salman at his home. But according to the FIR, they were met by Salman and four others — Rajab Butt, Maan Dogar, Jawad Haider, and Jahangir Butt. Ayesha claims they were locked inside a room, their phones were taken and reset, and they were threatened before being forced out.

Police have now registered a criminal case, naming Salman Haider as the main accused, with others listed as accomplices. The charges include rape, blackmail, criminal intimidation, and unlawful confinement. Investigations are currently ongoing.
