Truth Behind Libyan Pilgrim Amir Gaddafi Death NewsΒ
Social media users were left confused on Monday after false reports spread claiming that Libyan pilgrim Amer al Mahdi Mansour al Gaddafi had died while performing Tawaf at the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.
However, the reports are completely false. Amir Gaddafi is alive and healthy, and he has personally denied all such rumours in an interview with an Arabic news website.
What Actually Happened?
Amir Gaddafi was initially stopped from boarding his Hajj flight by immigration staff, just days before Hajj 2025. He was meant to fly on an Afriqiyah Airways flight, but due to technical issues, the plane had to return to the airport for an emergency landing.
After repairs, the plane took off againβwithout Amer, who was still waiting at the airport, refusing to leave or return home.
Then something unexpected happened. The same plane again developed technical problems and had to make a second emergency landing.
Flight Captain Changed His Mind
After the second landing and necessary maintenance, the flight captain agreed to take Amer al Gaddafi along this time. Amer finally arrived in Makkah and successfully performed Hajj, including standing on the Plains of Arafat on June 5, 2025.
Viral Death Rumour Was False
Soon after, false reports began circulating online claiming that Amer had died while performing Tawaf. Many social media posts declared him dead without any proof.
In a video statement, Amer himself confirmed that he is doing well. He denied all rumours and thanked people for their concern.
