Who is Lamnunthem Singson? Cabin Crew who died in Air India Crash

Lamnunthem Singson was one of the cabin crew members killed in yesterday's plane crash
Lamnunthem Singson, a young cabin crew member from Manipur, has been confirmed as one of the victims of the tragic Air India Flight 171 crash that happened on Thursday, June 12. The flight was en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick when it crashed minutes after takeoff, killing 241 of the 242 people on board.
Singson, originally from Old Lambulane in Imphal West, had recently joined Air India as a flight attendant. She moved to Kangpokpi district after fleeing violence in her hometown that started in May 2023. According to her family, she had been excited about her upcoming flight to London and shared that it was a big opportunity for her career.
Her last communication with family was short. She only said she was flying to London that day. The crash has left her family devastated. They are now awaiting final confirmation, although authorities have already stated that only one person survived the crash.
Flight 171 crashed into a residential area shortly after takeoff. The pilot had issued a mayday call, reporting engine failure and loss of thrust. No further communication came from the aircraft after that distress message.
Lamnunthem Singson’s story is a painful reminder of how quickly life can change. She was young, hopeful, and dedicated to her job. The community in Manipur is mourning her death alongside other victims of the crash.
