Karachi Gets Its First-Ever Beach Resort – Check Booking & Prices

In a major boost to Karachi’s tourism sector, Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Friday officially inaugurated the Cove Beach Resort at Hawk’s Bay — the city’s first-ever beach resort, built through a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

During the opening ceremony, Mayor Wahab said the resort represents a turning point for Karachi’s coastal tourism. “Now, people of Karachi won’t need to travel abroad for a premium beach experience. They’ll find it right here at home,” he said.

World-Class Beach Experience in Just 6 Months

The Cove Beach Resort was constructed in just six months and includes modern, family-friendly amenities, making it accessible to the public starting this week. It marks a landmark achievement for the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) under Mayor Wahab’s leadership.

Wahab revealed that another resort is already in the pipeline, possibly in Ibrahim Hyderi or Malir, to extend recreational facilities to more areas of the city.

Other Urban Development Projects Highlighted by Mayor Wahab:

• Cleaning of 46 major stormwater drains ahead of the monsoon season

• Beautification of II Chundrigar Road, the heart of the city’s financial district

• Restoration of Empress Market, Frere Hall, and Denso Hall

• Plans for a Mangrove Conservation Park to raise environmental awareness

The mayor emphasized that all initiatives are part of his vision to promote sustainable tourism, improve urban livability, and boost Karachi’s economy.

“Our goal is to give Karachiites the city they deserve — clean, modern, and full of recreational opportunities,” Wahab said.
