Who is Shehnaz? Karachi Maid accused of stealing Rs50 Million, Owns Cars, Flats, and Shop

In a startling case that has shocked many across Karachi, a domestic maid named Shehnaz has been arrested for allegedly stealing over Rs50 million from a bungalow in DHA’s Khayaban-e-Tanzeem area over a span of 15 years. Her arrest has revealed a hidden life of luxury funded by systematic theft.

According to police officials, Shehnaz, who worked as a maid in the upscale neighborhood, confessed during interrogation that she owns five cars, three residential flats, and a commercial shop. Investigators also disclosed that she had around Rs4 million in her bank accounts at the time of arrest.

Despite working as domestic help, Shehnaz reportedly lived a lifestyle far above her means. She frequently shopped in high-end malls, wore branded clothes, and spent her evenings at luxury cafés. Authorities claim she even moved around the city in a car worth Rs6.5 million.

It is believed that the bulk of the stolen money was taken from a specific room in the house where she was employed. Over time, Shehnaz invested the stolen funds into various assets, including motorcycles, properties, and vehicles, many of which she later rented out to earn a steady monthly income. Two of her three flats are also reportedly rented out.

Police have recovered Rs600,000 in cash from her residence and launched a manhunt for other suspects, including her son and a man named Asif, both of whom are allegedly involved. Shehnaz also admitted to setting up a shop for her son using stolen funds.

Authorities are now investigating the full extent of Shehnaz’s wealth, including property in her hometown. The case has raised questions about background checks and security procedures in affluent households that rely heavily on domestic staff.
