A British tourist tragically died after falling about 16 feet from a wall at Cala Aguila, a popular resort beach on the northeast coast of Majorca. The 41-year-old man lost his balance near the rocky area around 1:30 am and died instantly from the fall.
Emergency services, including firefighters and police, arrived after a 999 call and recovered his body. It is believed that the man was with his partner at the time of the accident. The woman, who is also British, fell but survived with injuries. She managed to reach a nearby hotel to raise the alarm.
There was some initial confusion due to a language barrier with the hotel receptionist, but the woman was able to inform the police about the incident. She was knocked unconscious during the fall and suffered several injuries.
Police are treating the incident as an accident. The Civil Guard, the local police force handling the case, has not yet released an official statement.
This tragedy comes just a month after another British woman died after falling from a lookout point in Palma, Majorca. The 39-year-old woman fell at Mirador des Jonquet, a well-known scenic spot popular with tourists. She was rushed to the hospital but died the same night. Authorities are not treating that death as suspicious.
