A startling incident unfolded in Lahore’s Johar Town today when a lion, kept in captivity at a farmhouse, managed to escape and found its way onto the street. The wild animal, having jumped over the farmhouse wall, caused panic among the public as it roamed the area in a disoriented state.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos as the lion, seemingly confused by its sudden exposure to the public, reacted aggressively. People on the street ran in different directions in fear, while the lion, equally startled, darted around and attacked several individuals. Reports indicate that between three to six people, including children, were injured during the frightening episode.
Footage of the incident quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread outrage. Public reaction has been harsh, with many condemning the practice of keeping wild animals in private homes.
One user commented, “That poor lion should not be kept in captivity. Send the owner to jail.” Another questioned, “Why is the government giving licenses to these people?” A third wrote, “These jahil people keep wild animals in their homes. This is wrong.”

The incident has ignited a fierce debate over private ownership of exotic animals and raised concerns about public safety and animal welfare.
