Two Teenagers Tragically Killed on Railway Line Near Poynton Station

Two teenagers lost their lives after being struck on a railway line near Poynton Station in Cheshire. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly before 10:30 pm, but sadly, both teenagers were pronounced dead at the location.

The British Transport Police are leading the investigation and have confirmed that the deaths are not being treated as suspicious. A spokesperson for the force told The Mirror that officers were called around 10:10 pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks near Poynton Station.

To allow paramedics to safely reach the scene, railway lines were temporarily closed, affecting services by Avanti West Coast, Cross Country, and Northern Rail. Train services remained suspended until approximately 6:00 am the following morning.

Officials are preparing a file for the coroner as they continue their inquiry into the tragic incident.
