BISP July 2025 Update: Payments Stopped for Tax-Filer Families

BISP July 2025 Update: Payments Stopped for Tax-Filer Families
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has introduced a major policy change that will affect thousands of women across Pakistan. As of July 2025, families with any registered income tax filers will no longer receive BISP financial aid.
Why Are Payments Being Stopped?
BISP has stated that “women—and their families—will be disqualified if they or any member of their household is found to be an income tax filer.” The goal is to ensure that financial support reaches only low-income and truly deserving families.
Who Will Be Affected?
Women will be disqualified if they:
- Are married to a tax filer
- Live in a household with declared income or assets
Are listed in NADRA/BISP records as financially stable
The last eligible payment for these families was made during the April–June 2025 cycle.
Disqualification Criteria
You will lose eligibility if:
- Your or your husband’s name appears in the income tax database
- Your family owns property, vehicles, or declared business income
You or any family member receives a government pension or formal salary
Once marked ineligible, payments will be stopped permanently.
When Will Payments Stop?
“No BISP payments will be sent to these households starting from July 2025.” The June 2025 installment is the final payment for affected families.
Reason for the Policy Shift
This decision is not meant as a punishment. It’s a step toward fairness, ensuring that aid is directed to:
- Widows
- Unemployed persons
- Poor women
Families without regular income
BISP aims to remove those who no longer meet the criteria.
What to Do If Affected
If your payments have stopped:
- Check if a household member is a tax filer
- Visit your nearest BISP office with your CNIC
Request a status update or apply for re-verification
If your family truly pays taxes, you are now ineligible for future payments.
Important Reminders
- Your NADRA record is not affected by BISP removal
- You can still apply for other government aid if eligible
Do not submit false documents—this may result in a permanent ban
