Benazir Nashonuma Program 2025 support for mothers & children

11 July, 2025 17:56

In many parts of Pakistan, mothers and young children still face problems getting proper health care and good food. To solve this, the government started the Benazir Nashonuma Program under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

This program helps pregnant women and mothers of small children by giving them both money and health support.

This is not just about giving cash. The program focuses on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, which are very important for growth and health. It guides mothers on better nutrition, vaccinations, and medical care.

Who Can Join This Program?

• The mother must already be part of BISP.
• She should be pregnant or have a child under 2 years old.
• She must attend regular health checkups and education sessions.

What Support Is Given?

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women get Rs. 2,500 every 3 months.
• For each girl child under 2, the family gets Rs. 2,500 quarterly.
• For each boy child under 2, the family gets Rs. 2,000 quarterly.
• An extra Rs. 500 is given for travel to the health center.

This higher amount for girls encourages families to care for them equally.

How to Register?

  1. Visit your nearest Nashonuma Center (at selected health facilities).

  2. Take your CNIC and child’s B-Form.

  3. A health check will be done.

  4. If eligible, you will be enrolled and payments will start.

Mothers also attend training about nutrition, breastfeeding, vaccinations, and child growth monitoring.

Important Points

• Only children born on or after January 1, 2018 can join.
• The support stops when the child turns 2 years old.
• Mothers must attend health awareness sessions regularly.

This program helps poor families get health care and teaches them healthy habits. By focusing on mothers and babies, it aims to fight malnutrition and health problems in Pakistan’s most vulnerable areas.
