Who is Farzana Kausar? Award-Winning Maid Arrested in Karachi for Drugging, Robbing Families

KARACHI – Farzana Kausar, arrested in Karachi on charges of house theft, has turned out to be an award recipient during her previous imprisonment.

According to Defense Police, the suspect, a housemaid, accumulated millions by drugging household members with sedative-laced tea before looting valuables.

The arrested woman has been identified as Farzana Kausar, also known as Mehreen. Police officials reported that she stole jewelry worth Rs. 6.5 million from a bungalow and then fled the city. Recently, she was apprehended by Ferozabad Police in connection with another theft case.

Authorities revealed that during the robbery, Mehreen served sedative-laced green tea to the residents, causing them to lose consciousness. During interrogation, police uncovered significant details about her criminal history.

Investigators disclosed that Mehreen had previously served a three-year sentence in Islamabad. While in prison, she was awarded by former Prime Minister Imran Khan for her sewing skills.

The suspect informed police that she hails from Faisalabad and has multiple theft cases registered against her in Lahore. In December 2024, a complaint was filed by a man named Shaukat Mahmood at Defense Police Station, accusing Mehreen of drugging his family and fleeing with gold jewelry, cash, and other valuables.

Police confirmed that the value of the stolen items exceeded Rs. 6.5 million. After her recent arrest by Ferozabad Police in a separate incident, the complainants identified her, prompting Defense Police to include her in their ongoing case.

Farzana Kausar alias Mehreen is currently under arrest in three separate theft cases at Ferozabad Police Station and is suspected of committing robberies worth millions in Clifton and Gizri areas as well.
