29 July, 2025 17:27

Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, and Olivia Henson tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Chester Cathedral on June 7, 2024. It was hailed as the society wedding of the year, attended by 400 guests and many prominent names from British high society.

Olivia Henson’s Background

Olivia, 32, works as a senior account manager at Belazu, a company that imports quality European ingredients with a sustainability focus. She is based in London, and after marriage, the couple is expected to settle in Hugh’s London flat.

Her education journey began at the Dragon School in Oxford and continued at Marlborough College, which also counts Kate and Pippa Middleton as alumni. Later, she studied Hispanic Studies and Italian at Trinity College Dublin, where she earned a 2:1 degree. Although she lived in Ireland during college, she met her future husband through mutual friends just three years ago.

The Henson Family Lineage

Olivia is the eldest child of Rupert and Caroline Henson. Her mother is connected to the Hoare banking family and the Marquess of Bristol. Olivia also descends from John Manners, the 5th Duke of Rutland. She has two siblings—Emilia, 27, and Jasper, 30.

The Proposal and Their Relationship

Hugh proposed at Eaton Hall in Cheshire, and they shared the news with a relaxed photo. “The couple appeared in casual clothing in their announcement photo, presenting themselves with minimal in the picture for a down-to-earth, laid-back feel.”

The Wedding Day

Olivia wore a custom gown by Emma Victoria Payne, keeping her makeup natural and warm-toned. She had a white gel manicure to complete the bridal look. “She kept her makeup simple for the big day and opted for lots of warm peachy tones.”

Royal Guests in Attendance

Prince William attended the wedding and acted as an usher. “Prince William acted as an usher at his good pal’s wedding meaning he was one of the people welcoming the new Mr and Mrs’ guests to the cathedral.” Though invited, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Kate could not attend. Princess Eugenie and several members of the Van Straubenzee family were present.

A Growing Family

Nine months after their wedding, the couple shared joyful news. “The Duke and Duchess of Westminister are very pleased to share that the Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple is delighted with the news and very much looking forward to starting a family together.”

In July 2025, they welcomed their daughter. “We are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby daughter. We now look forward to spending this special time together as a family,” they announced. They named her Cosima Florence, a name meaning order and harmony.
