Who Is Delbert Carver? Man Charged for Throwing Sex Toy During WNBA Game

05 August, 2025 13:44

Delbert Carver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on Saturday, August 2, after a shocking incident during a WNBA game. He was accused of throwing a sex toy onto the court during the Golden State Valkyries’ match against the Atlanta Dream at the Gateway Center Arena in Georgia.

The incident took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, when a green object was seen landing near the free throw line. Officials did not stop the game, but a law enforcement officer used a towel to remove the object. The situation quickly went viral on social media, sparking outrage and concern for player safety.

Carver was taken into custody and booked at the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro, Georgia. He now faces multiple charges including:

  • Disorderly conduct

  • Public indecency/indecent exposure

  • Criminal trespass

He was released on bond the next day, Sunday, August 3. According to Clayton County court records, the case is still pending, and a court date is yet to be announced.

This was not the only incident of its kind. Another sex toy was thrown onto the court on Friday, August 1, during a game between the Valkyries and the Chicago Sky. No one has been arrested in that case so far.

In response, the WNBA has issued a strict warning. The league stated that any fan caught throwing objects will be immediately ejected, face a minimum one-year ban, and could also be charged by law enforcement.

“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority,” the WNBA said in a public statement.

The league reminded fans that throwing any object on the court is dangerous for players, referees, and other spectators.
