Who is Dr. Mubeena Qasim? Arrested by FIA for Child Trafficking Allegations!

06 August, 2025 11:59

Dr. Mubeena Qasim, the chairperson of the international humanitarian organization HOPE, has been taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi. HOPE is known for its work in improving health, education, and welfare for underprivileged children in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The organization has previously arranged initiatives such as distributing Eid gifts and food packages to needy children.

Allegations of Child Smuggling Surface

Despite her charitable image, Dr. Qasim now faces serious allegations of trafficking 23 children abroad through the use of forged adoption documents. The arrest came after a formal complaint was lodged by the US Consulate, which triggered an FIA investigation.

Illegal Adoptions to the US

Investigations revealed that Dr. Qasim was allegedly involved in sending minor children overseas, particularly to the United States, under the false pretense of adoption. The operation is suspected to be part of a larger human trafficking ring.

Pre-Arrest Bail Denied

As the investigation progressed, clear evidence emerged linking Dr. Qasim to the crime. She had applied for pre-arrest bail, which was rejected by the court on Monday. Soon after the rejection, FIA officials acted swiftly and arrested her.

Crackdown on Fake Welfare Fronts

According to FIA sources, this arrest is a significant breakthrough in the crackdown on trafficking networks operating under the disguise of welfare organizations.

“The scope of the investigation has been widened,” officials stated, adding that “action is expected soon against other possible facilitators.”
