Kevin Watson, 42, lost his life during a Facebook livestream in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood. The shocking incident happened on the evening of Wednesday, August 13, and has since gone viral with over 2.5 million views online.

The Chicago Police Department said the shooting occurred around 6:14 p.m. on the 5000 block of West Madison Street. Watson was inside his car, streaming live on Facebook, when the incident took place.

In the video, Watson can be seen sitting in the driver’s seat, talking about a parking dispute. He was calm, explaining that he would move his car to allow space for others if needed. Moments later, a man walked up to the driver’s side window.

Watson raised his hands and stepped out of the car. Several gunshots were then heard on the livestream. The screen later showed the inside roof of the car as voices in the background discussed the crime scene, urging people not to touch anything.

Authorities confirmed Watson was shot in the chest. He died at the scene from his injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner officially identified him the next day.

The shooter has not yet been caught. Police have launched an investigation but have not revealed any motive or further details. The viral video has sparked outrage and concern over the growing violence in Chicago.
