Authorities in Florida have issued an Amber Alert for two missing children from Palm Beach County.
The alert involves 3-year-old Aizon Turner and 11-year-old Akachi Turner, who are believed to be with their mother, 43-year-old Audrey Turner. Police stated that Turner does not currently have custody of the boys.
According to investigators, the children were last seen in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street in Riviera Beach, where they had been staying at a foster home. Officials believe the group may be traveling toward the Atlanta area in a black Toyota sedan with front-end damage. Another unidentified woman may also be with them.
Authorities describe Audrey Turner as 5’5” tall, weighing 180 pounds, and possibly wearing “a black tank top and cream skirt with black stripes” along with a nose ring. Her hair may be tied in a ponytail. Akachi was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, and high-top Fila sneakers, while Aizon was dressed in a khaki shirt, khaki shorts, and black light-up shoes with red trim.
Turner, who resides in Miami-Dade County, reportedly had an active warrant for her arrest in Miami on child neglect charges.
The case underscores the alarming frequency of missing child reports in the U.S.—with an estimated 840,000 children reported missing annually, according to the Child Crime Prevention and Safety Center. Family kidnappings account for nearly half of these cases, most often involving a parent.
Officials are urging anyone with information to immediately contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at 1-888-FL-MISSING.
