BISP Funds Recovery: Government Announces Salary and Pension Deductions
The government has directed installment-based deductions from the salaries and pensions of government employees and retired teachers in a bid to curb the misuse of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
In Kandiaro, District Naushahro Feroze, the District Education Officer issued a formal notification ordering deductions from the salaries and pensions of 173 government employees and retired staff of the Education Department.
According to the notification, employees in BPS-1 to BPS-10 will face monthly deductions of Rs. 3,000, while BPS-11 to BPS-16 staff will have Rs. 5,000 deducted. For senior officials in BPS-17 to BPS-20, deductions will amount to Rs. 10,000 per month.
These deductions are specifically aimed at recovering amounts previously received by their families under BISP.
The District Accounts Officer, Taluka Education Officers, and institutional heads have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the order.
This move highlights the government’s effort to strengthen accountability and prevent misuse of welfare funds.
