Reckless Driver Natasha Allarakhia Jailed for 10 Years After Killing Two Grammar School Pupils in High-Speed Crash

19 August, 2025 14:52

A mother-of-two has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after causing the deaths of two grammar school pupils in a horrific high-speed crash.

Natasha Allarakhia, 36, was driving her Audi Q2 at 96mph when she ploughed into a stationary Ford Fiesta at temporary traffic lights on the A17 near North Rauceby, Lincolnshire. The collision killed 17-year-old William Ray and 18-year-old Eddie Shore, while another passenger, Jack Prince, suffered life-changing injuries.

The court heard Allarakhia had been sipping alcohol while driving and initially lied to police by claiming a friend had been behind the wheel. She maintained the false story for more than an hour as emergency services fought to save the teenagers.

Prosecutor David Eager told the court: “Not only was she driving at 96mph but she was not paying attention all the time. During part of the journey she was drinking from a can of alcohol, literally drinking and driving.”

Allarakhia’s record revealed five previous convictions for 12 offences, including multiple speeding violations and bad driving incidents. Shockingly, she was caught speeding again while on bail after the fatal crash.

Victim impact statements described the devastating loss. Eddie’s mother, Kerri Foster, told Allarakhia her “selfish actions” had stolen her son’s future, while William’s mother, Sarah Barker, said: “Our lives after 9.41pm on that evening will never be the same again. My Will, my only boy, the love of my life.”

Judge James House KC, addressing Allarakhia, said: “This defendant was not just driving significantly in excess of the limit but was not paying attention for a significant period of time.” He also noted her history of driving offences as aggravating factors.

Along with her 10-year jail term, Allarakhia has been banned from driving for 12 and a half years and will be required to pass an extended test before regaining her licence.

Detective Sergeant Kate Johnston from Lincolnshire Police condemned her actions: “Because of her utter disregard for the safety of others, two teenagers, with their lives ahead of them, were cruelly taken from this world.”
