How to check your BISP eligibility for September 2025 payment

26 August, 2025 18:56

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is Pakistan’s biggest social welfare scheme. In September 2025, eligible families will receive Rs13,500 as part of the regular cash support. Many people are asking how to check if they qualify and where to collect the money. Here’s a simple guide.

Who Can Get the Payment?

To receive the September 2025 installment, you must meet these conditions:

  • Have a valid CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card)

  • Be a female head of household registered in the family

  • Have a Poverty Score (PMT) of 32 or less

  • Be listed in the NSER database

If your record in NSER is not updated, you may face issues.

How to Check Eligibility

1. Through the 8171 Web Portal

  • Visit the official 8171 website.

  • Enter your CNIC number.

  • Type the captcha code.

  • Click submit to see your status.

Results can be: Eligible, Pending, or Ineligible.

2. Through SMS 8171

  • Open your mobile phone’s messaging app.

  • Type your CNIC number.

  • Send it to 8171.

  • You’ll get a reply with your eligibility status.

(Note: Sending SMS may cost a standard fee.)

If You Are Eligible

You can collect your payment from:

  • BISP campsites in your area

  • Partner banks and agents (like HBL Konnect)

  • Mobile wallet (if available)

Always carry your original CNIC and count your money before leaving.

If You Are Marked Ineligible

Don’t worry if the system says “ineligible” or “no record.” You can:

  • Visit the nearest BISP Tehsil Office

  • Update your information in the NSER survey

  • Wait for review if your case is still pending

Common Issues and Fixes

  • No SMS reply → Try again later or check balance

  • Wrong CNIC info → Update at NADRA first

  • Shifted to another city → Inform Tehsil Office

  • Payment delay → Usually solved within days

Stay Safe from Scams

  • Only trust messages from 8171

  • Registration and checks are free

  • Don’t share CNIC with unknown agents or fake websites

  • Use only official BISP services

How to File a Complaint

If you face problems like deduction or fraud:

  • Call BISP Helpline: 0800-26477

  • Or visit your nearest Tehsil Office with CNIC and SMS/receipt
