The second total lunar eclipse of 2025, commonly referred to as a blood moon, will be visible across Pakistan on the night of September 7 to 8. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the eclipse can be observed from start to finish, offering a complete viewing experience for skywatchers.

  • Partial eclipse begins: 9:27 PM

  • Total eclipse begins: 10:30 PM

  • Greatest eclipse (peak): 11:11 PM

  • Total eclipse ends: 11:52 PM

  • Partial eclipse ends: 12:57 AM (September 8)

  • Eclipse ends completely: 1:55 AM

Visibility Across Pakistan

The blood moon will be fully visible throughout Pakistan, including major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, and Peshawar. Observers can look toward the south and southeast sky, where the moon will reach an altitude of approximately 47 degrees at the center of the eclipse.
