Who is Owais? Young TikToker Dies in Attempt to Make Video in Floodwaters

A young TikTok creator, Owais, lost his life while attempting to make a video in floodwaters. Owais, who had gained popularity on the platform, drowned during the recent floods.

According to police, Owais frequently filmed videos in floodwaters, a trend that had boosted his fame on TikTok. With 164,000 followers and 1.16 million likes, he often risked his safety to increase his reach and engagement.

During the recent floods, his videos were attracting millions of views and likes. Tragically, while filming one such video, Owais entered deep water, which ultimately claimed his life. Rescue 1122 recovered his body and handed it over to his family.

This incident is not isolated. Many TikTok users in Pakistan and around the world have endangered their lives for online content. Despite awareness campaigns aimed at protecting content creators, fatal accidents continue to occur.
