Perrie Edwards Announces Second Pregnancy After Two Miscarriages

Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Former Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has shared the emotional news that she is expecting her second child with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, following the heartbreak of two previous miscarriages.

The 32-year-old singer posted a touching black-and-white video on Instagram where she proudly showed her baby bump. Perrie first appeared walking with her back to the camera in a custom T-shirt that read: “If he wanted to, he would …” before turning around to reveal her growing bump with the words: “… And he did.” Moments later, Alex joined her for a warm embrace as they smiled for the camera.

The caption read simply: “Guess what hunnies…” — sparking an outpouring of love from fans and friends.

Perrie’s former bandmates were quick to celebrate the news. Jade Thirlwall commented: “Love you and so happy for you all,” while Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: “Just the best news! Love you all.”

The announcement comes four years after Perrie and Alex welcomed their first son, Axel, in August 2021. Perrie has often called him her “rainbow baby” — a term used for children born after a miscarriage or pregnancy loss.

Perrie’s Miscarriage Heartbreak

Perrie has previously spoken about the pain of losing a pregnancy. She revealed she suffered a miscarriage at 24 weeks, describing it as “the worst day of my life.”

She recalled going for what she thought was a 20-week scan but discovered she was actually 22 weeks along. Tragically, doctors told her there was no heartbeat. “I just knew something was wrong in the scan,” Perrie explained. “I’ve never experienced an out-of-body experience like that.”

The couple’s new pregnancy announcement is seen as a hopeful new chapter after years of grief and healing.
