Who is Rebecca ‘Becky’ Holdham? Search Intensifies for Missing West Sussex Mother

Friends, family, and locals are continuing a large-scale search for Rebecca “Becky” Holdham, a 38-year-old mother-of-two who disappeared six days ago from the Ockley Park estate near Hassocks, West Sussex.

Becky was last seen around 10am on Sunday, September 7. Later that morning, her children returned home to find their mother missing, sparking a major search involving drones, sniffer dogs, and a police helicopter combing nearby fields and woodlands.

Residents have since joined the effort, distributing “Missing Person” posters across local businesses. The posters describe Becky as “slim, 5ft 4in tall, with shoulder-length brown hair and a tattoo on her ankle” and note her links to Burgess Hill, Horsham, Worthing, Devon, and Dorset.

Her best friend, Kerry Malby, has appealed for support, saying: “She’s a devoted mum and this is completely out of character. She wouldn’t just leave her children. We just want her home and safe, her girls need her.”

Becky’s mother, Alison Holdham, added: “So far they’ve got no trace of Becky.”

Sussex Police confirmed they are deeply concerned for Becky’s welfare. Detective Inspector Chris May of the West Sussex Missing Persons Team stated: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Rebecca’s welfare, and are urging anyone who has seen or heard from her since Sunday morning to get in touch.”

He noted that investigators are conducting extensive enquiries, including physical searches, door-to-door visits, and reviewing CCTV and doorbell camera footage. Police believe Becky left the address on foot, though her clothing at the time is unknown.
