Who Is Jehanzaib? Karachi Man Mysteriously Disappears Just Hours Before His Wedding

A young man, Jehanzaib, went missing just hours before his wedding ceremony in Korangi’s Madina Colony, turning a day meant for celebration into one of fear and uncertainty for his family.

According to his brother, Waseem, Jehanzaib left home around 5:00 PM on the evening of the wedding to visit a nearby salon for final preparations. However, he never returned. Notably, he had left his mobile phone at home before stepping out.

A missing person report was filed at the Zaman Town Police Station. SHO Nafeesur Rehman confirmed that police are in touch with the family and assured that a formal First Information Report (FIR) would be registered soon. Despite ongoing efforts, there has been no breakthrough in locating the missing groom.

Jehanzaib was reportedly employed at a private factory. His sudden disappearance has caused immense anxiety and distress among family members, who strongly suspect abduction.

Kidnapping-for-Ransom?

In a separate and alarming incident, serious allegations have emerged implicating police officers in a kidnapping-for-ransom case in Shah Latif Town.

Local residents apprehended a man, identified as Basit, who had allegedly been sent to collect ransom money. A video of the confrontation has since gone viral. In the footage, Basit confessed to being part of a “private party” operating under SHO Zamir Khawer of Shah Latif Police Station.

Basit further admitted that he and his associate, Saleem Chandio, had kidnapped several citizens and detained them near the police station. He revealed that the victims had been abducted two days earlier, and that no FIR had been registered against them.

The victims also reported being instructed—by individuals posing as police officials—to transfer ransom money into a specific bank account.

In response to the viral video, SSP Malir Khaliq Pirzada issued a show-cause notice to SHO Zamir Khawer. Additionally, DSP Malir City has been assigned to lead a formal inquiry into the incident. SSP Pirzada stated that strict legal action would be taken against any officer found involved.
